On 14 October 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto, Prof. Dr Matej Makarovič, issued the Decision on the Call for Student Elections (No. 77/2024-2028) to the Student Council, as well as to the bodies and committees of the Faculty of Information Studies, for the 2025/2026 academic year.

The number of candidates to be elected to individual bodies and committees of the Faculty is determined in the general acts of the Faculty, as follows:

  • President of the Student Council (who also serves as Vice-Dean Student and a member of Committee for the Award of Honorary Titles): 1;

  • Vice-President of the Student Council: 1;

  • Student Council – remaining members: 5;

  • Management Board FIS: 1;

  • Senate FIS: 3;

  • Commission for Academic and Student Affairs: 1;

  • Commission for Disciplinary Responsibility of the Students: 1 representative and 1 deputy representative;

  • Awards Commission: 1;

  • Research Ethics Committee: 1;

  • Commission for Quality and Evaluation: 1.

The elections for members of the FIS Student Council, as well as for the FIS bodies and committees, will take place from 5 to 7 November 2025, online via the Faculty’s student information system.

The deadline for submitting candidacies begins the day after the publication of the election call (15 October 2025) and ends on the eighth (8th) day after publication (22 October 2025). Candidacies must be submitted using the official form published on the Faculty’s website. On the first working day after the submission deadline (23 October 2025), the Election Committee will review and confirm correctly submitted candidacies. Incorrect (late, incomplete, etc.) candidacies will be rejected.

In the event that an insufficient number of students stand for election, as defined in Article 3 of the Rules on the Election of Student Representatives to the Student Council, the Academic Assembly and other bodies of the Faculty, the deadline for submitting candidacies shall be extended until 30 October 2025. Since an insufficient number of candidacies were submitted within the original deadline, the deadline for submitting candidacies is extended until 30 October 2025.

Candidacies must be sent by email to pravno.kadrovska@fis.unm.si with the subject line: “DO NOT OPEN – for the 2025/2026 FIS Student Council elections”.
Applications submitted by midnight on 22 October 2025 shall be considered timely. The new deadline for submitting candidacies is 30 October 2025 by midnight.

Each candidacy must include the following personal details of the candidate: first and last name, permanent or temporary address, level and year of study, study programme and mode of study, and the body and/or committee for which the student is applying. The form must be signed by hand or digitally.
