On 4 November 2025, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto, Prof. Dr. Matej Makarovič, issued the Decision on extending the deadline for submitting candidatures for the 2025/2026 student elections and setting a new date for the student elections (no. 82/2024-2028) to the FIS Student Council, FIS Bodies and Committees for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

The number of candidates to be elected to individual bodies and committees of the Faculty is determined in the general acts of the Faculty, as follows:

  • President of the Student Council (who also serves as Vice-Dean Student and a member of Committee for the Award of Honorary Titles): 1;

  • Vice-President of the Student Council: 1;

  • Student Council – remaining members: 5;

  • Management Board FIS: 1;

  • Senate FIS: 3;

  • Commission for Academic and Student Affairs: 1;

  • Commission for Disciplinary Responsibility of the Students: 1 representative and 1 deputy representative;

  • Awards Commission: 1;

  • Research Ethics Committee: 1;

  • Commission for Quality and Evaluation: 1.

The elections for members of the FIS Student Council, as well as for the FIS bodies and committees, will take place from 20 to 25 November 2025online via the Faculty’s student information system.

The deadline for submitting candidacies for the student elections for the 2025/2026 academic year has been extended until 17 November 2025.

Candidacies must be submitted using the prescribed form, available on the FIS website. On the first working day after the deadline (18 November 2025), the Election Committee will review and confirm properly submitted candidacies. The Committee will reject incorrect (late, incomplete, etc.) candidacies.

Candidacies must be sent by email to pravno.kadrovska@fis.unm.si with the subject line: “DO NOT OPEN – for the 2025/2026 FIS Student Council elections”. A candidacy is considered submitted on time if received by midnight on 17 November 2025.

Each candidacy must include the following personal details of the candidate: first and last name, permanent or temporary address, level and year of study, study programme and mode of study, and the body and/or committee for which the student is applying. The form must be signed by hand or digitally.
