The 1st national event of the project “ SPOZNAJ – Supporting the introduction of open science principles in Slovenia“, in which our faculty participates as part of the consortium.

At the event we:

  • outlined the guidelines for the implementation of the national policy on open science and
  • learnt about successful practices in the implementation of Open Science principles in the European Research Area.

Here are some thoughts from the event:

“At the Ministry for Digital Transformation, we support open science and we know how important it is. But we also know how much digitisation can contribute to open science – in data collection, in data processing and in data sharing.” Dr. Emilija Stojmenova Duh, Minister for Digital Transformation

“We need to be extremely careful when introducing the principles of open science. The basic concept that we follow both at national and European level is to be open as much as possible, but on the other hand also to be cautious.” Dr. Igor Papič, Minister for Higher Education, Science and Innovation

“Open science is collaborative science. We must not allow ourselves to compete on scientific infrastructure. I also see SPOZNAJ as a platform for dialogue – this is where researchers, the research community, funders and the wider community come together.” Mag. Miro Pušnik, Director of the Central Technical Library, University of Ljubljana
