Blended Intensive Programmes - BIP

A Call for Applications for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) for the 2025/2026 academic year has been published.

Blended Intensive Programmes (BIP) make international mobility accessible to a wider range of participants, as they are shorter and more flexible than standard Erasmus+ study mobilities. They are based on innovative approaches to learning and teaching, interdisciplinary and international cooperation, and a combination of virtual and physical mobility.

Physical mobility usually lasts 5 days (up to a maximum of 30 days), while virtual mobility complements the programme by connecting participants online, where they work simultaneously on challenges and tasks included in the programme and contributing to joint, comprehensive learning outcomes. Students and staff of FIS may apply for Blended Intensive Programmes. Students and staff participating in a BIP are entitled to financial support from the Erasmus+ programme.

STUDENTS

  • Must have active student status at FIS for the entire duration of participation in the BIP.
  • Must not exceed the maximum total duration of mobility, which is 12 months per study cycle (Erasmus study and traineeship).
  • May participate in an Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme a maximum of twice during their entire period of study.
  • May not participate in a BIP in the country of the sending institution or in the country where they reside during their studies.
  • Students who are also employed may apply for this call only if their employer does not cover the costs during the period of participation in the BIP on the basis of a travel order.

A successfully completed programme attended by a student is awarded at least 3 ECTS credits.

STAFF

  • Must be employed in accordance with the Employment Relationships Act (fixed-term or permanent employment, full-time or part-time), or work at FIŠ on the basis of a contract for services or an author’s contract
  • If the participant is simultaneously employed at another higher education institution or higher vocational college, they must submit confirmation from that institution or school that they have not received co-financing from another employer for the same mobility.

Based on this call, FIS staff may apply only for participation in BIPs intended for staff training.

Applicants apply independently for the selected BIP in accordance with the application procedure prescribed by the BIP organiser.

The following may apply:

  • students with active student status during the mobility period, enrolled in at least the first year of higher education studies in the case of mobility for traineeship purposes;
  • recent graduates (if the mobility starts within 12 months of graduation);
  • citizens of Erasmus+ programme participating countries or students who meet the programme conditions;
  • candidates who meet other requirements set out in the current call.

The application deadline is until all available places are filled. If fewer applications are received than the number of places available, FIS will continue to accept additional applications until the places are filled or funds are exhausted. If there are more applications than available places, candidates will be ranked according to the following criterion – priority will be given to participants who have not previously taken part in the Erasmus+ programme. The Dean decides on the selection of candidates based on the proposal of the competent committee. Participants will be informed of the selection results by email.

Recognition of obligations completed abroad is a fundamental principle of Erasmus+ studies.

Obligations are recognised if they are:

  • agreed in advance with the home faculty, and
  • recorded in the Learning Agreement.

Students participating in a BIP are awarded at least 3 ECTS credits – the exact number of credits is stated in each individual call.
