Students with Special Status and Students with Special Needs
At the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto, we are committed to ensuring that students with special status and students with special needs are fully included in the study process and are provided with appropriate accommodations to support their progression and completion of their studies.
According to the Regulations for students with a special status and students with special needs, special student status may be granted on the basis of:

According to the Regulations for students with a special status and students with special needs, special student status may be granted on the basis of:
- a student who is a categorized athlete or trainer,
- a student who is a recognized artist or cultural worker,
- a student participating in (regional) international competitions,
- a student who is a parent.

How to obtain special status or the status of a student with special needs?
- A student enrolled in a first, second, or third-cycle study programme under the Bologna Process submits an application for obtaining special status or status with special needs to the Student Affairs Office, preferably at the time of enrolment. The application must include appropriate supporting documentation demonstrating the student’s eligibility.
- The Student Affairs Office forwards the application to the Commission for Academic and Student Affairs, which makes a recommendation to the Senate.
- The Senate reviews the application and issues a decision granting or denying the status. If granted, the Senate specifies the period for which the status applies.
- The decision is sent to the student, the dean, and the Student Affairs Office.
- Students who are granted the status receive an individualized support plan providing adapted study conditions.
