Participants' Obligations
Staff mobility for training purposes (STT) is intended for professional and academic staff of FIS who participate in structured forms of training abroad. International mobility is intended for all professional staff of the faculty to participate in training in a company or organisation, such as a higher education organisation in another participating country.
Training may take the form of temporary staff transfers to another workplace, job shadowing schemes, study visits, workshops, conferences, etc.
The duration of mobility is a minimum of 2 working days and a maximum of 2 months, with travel time not included in the duration of mobility.
It is recommended that mobility lasts at least 5 days, as longer training has a greater impact on the professional development of the participant and strengthens cooperation with the host institution.
International mobility of professionals enables employees to gain experience of good practices abroad, new knowledge, and practical skills that are important for their current work and professional development. This also strengthens cooperation between partner higher education institutions.
The host institution must:
- be from an Erasmus+ programme country or a partner country in regions 13 and 14,
- agree to the training programme before the start of the mobility.
The host organisation may be:
- a higher education institution (in this case, it must have an ECHE certificate and a signed bilateral agreement with FIS),
- or another organisation that conducts training, workshops, courses, study visits, or job shadowing schemes.
Employees may propose a host institution themselves. If it is in the interest of both institutions, FIS concludes an appropriate agreement with the host institution prior to the mobility.
The Erasmus+ financial grant is intended to cover travel and accommodation costs abroad. The maximum amount of the grant is the sum of:
- travel grant and
- individual subsistence allowance.
The grant is paid in the amount of actual costs, in accordance with the calculated travel order and applicable Slovenian legislation. Applicants are notified of the amount of the approved grant by e-mail.
Eligible costs
- Subsidy for accommodation: daily allowances, accommodation, local transport, and health insurance for abroad
- Travel subsidy: travel costs by public transport or private car on the day of arrival and departure
The amount of the travel grant is determined on the basis of the Erasmus Distance Calculator, taking into account the actual costs up to the maximum amounts allowed.
The daily allowance and travel costs are financed up to a certain amount within the limits of the available funds. More information is available at the link.
FIS employees are eligible to apply for the call. Mobility is intended for all faculty professionals who wish to upgrade their knowledge and skills relevant to their current work and further professional development.
Applications can be submitted:
- via the application form published on the FIS website,
- in person at the FIS Students’ Affairs Office, or
- by e-mail to erasmus@fis.unm.si
(with the subject line: Erasmus mobility for training purposes 2025/2026).
The call for applications is open from the date of publication until all available places are filled. Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. If there are more applications than available places, candidates will be placed on a reserve list.
Call for applications for staff exchange for training purposes (STT) for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Application deadline: 31 October 2025, or until available funds are exhausted
- Mobility period: until 31 July 2026
- Number of available mobilities: 2 mobilities for training
The application form for the call for applications for mobility can be found at this link.
The application deadline is until all available places are filled. If fewer applications are received than there are places available, FIS will accept additional applications until all places are filled or funds are exhausted.
Selection criteria
Preference will be given to:
- employees who have not yet participated in mobility.
The following will also be taken into account in the selection process:
- the professional development of the candidate,
- the importance of mobility for further cooperation with a foreign institution,
- the compatibility of mobility with the development and strategic directions of the faculty.
The dean decides on the selection of candidates based on the proposal of the Commission for International Mobility (KMM).
Sample documentation:
Before mobility
The selected candidate must prepare and sign a Mobility Agreement – Staff mobility for training in cooperation with FIS and the host institution, confirming the training programme.
After mobility
The participant must complete the final report (questionnaire) received by e-mail. If the report is not submitted, FIS may request a partial or full refund of the Erasmus+ grant received.
In the event of exceptional circumstances or force majeure, FIS shall report this to the National Agency and act in accordance with its instructions.

Between 25 July and 29 July 2022, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Rojko participated in an international mobility under the Erasmus+ programme, where she attended the training course “Efficient & Effective Project Management for EU Funded Projects”. Such training courses are extremely useful for anyone wishing to gain additional knowledge in project management, particularly in managing EU-funded projects. The knowledge acquired will be very valuable for her future teaching activities as well as for her work on the projects she leads.

Between 2 August and 6 August 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Rojko participated in an Erasmus+ mobility in Palermo, where she attended the training “Identifying Barriers to Learning – A Special Educational Needs Masterclass”.
Upon returning from the mobility, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Katarina Rojko summarised that the training was extremely useful, as there are a number of students who experience learning difficulties that often go unrecognised and cannot be adequately addressed without proper training. The acquired knowledge will therefore be very valuable in her future teaching work as well as in her professional role as Vice-Dean for Education.
Professional associate Nataša Lisec participated in the Regent’s Erasmus+ Staff Training Week at Regent’s University London, United Kingdom, from 11 July to 15 July 2016.
As she stated in her report following the exchange, this is a private, non-profit university with a campus located in Regent’s Park, practically in the centre of London (next to Madame Tussauds). “The university is very student-focused. It has around 3,000 students, most of whom come from abroad, with only 20 per cent being British. Tuition fees amount to £16,000 per academic year, and students are expected to have knowledge of several foreign languages, attend at least 75 per cent of all lectures, and complete one year of study at one of their partner universities abroad,” she wrote.
The Erasmus Staff Week was organised at the university for the first time and was attended by 50 participants from 17 countries worldwide. Two workshops were organised each day. “All workshops were designed to be highly interactive, and active participation and contribution from all attendees was expected in order to achieve the desired outcomes. The use of social media was encouraged. The entire experience was truly wonderful and beneficial. The exchange of experiences, change of environment, new contacts … I would recommend Erasmus+ mobility to anyone who has the opportunity,” Nataša Lisec concluded.
Between 7 December and 15 December 2022, Assoc. Prof. Biljana Mileva Boshkoska, PhD, participated in an Erasmus+ mobility at Copenhagen Business School (CBS) in Denmark, where she collaborated with Prof. Janine Lesche, PhD. Together, they prepared a project proposal and a journal publication. On 10 December 2022, she also attended the one-day 2022 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium, where she participated as a co-chair of a research group. The conference took place at CBS.
Between 25 March and 16 May 2021, Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević participated in an Erasmus+ mobility at Algebra University College in Zagreb, within their Algebra Lab.
As part of the Erasmus+ mobility for training purposes, he was involved in project activities of the joint Erasmus+ project ADSEE. Together with the host institution, they also planned new projects to be submitted by FIŠ and Algebra to future calls.
Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević stated that the mobility was successful and that he made excellent use of the opportunity to familiarise himself with different practices, particularly the promotion of IT entrepreneurship within their own incubator, led by Dr. Leo Mršić.
Between 6 October and 10 October 2021, Prof. Riste Škrekovski, PhD, participated in an Erasmus+ mobility at the Institute of Mathematics and Physics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
Within the project, he was involved in research on nanotori, which partly fall within chemical graph theory and partly within algebraic graph theory, as well as network theory, with particular emphasis on various constructions of nanotori and the connections between them.
Prof. Riste Škrekovski, PhD, stated that the mobility was more than successful. In addition to the research work, he also discussed possible future joint research projects with the host institution.
