The Faculty of Information Studies in Novo Mesto (FIS) organised a Computer Science and Web Technologies Competition for high school students on Friday, April 17, and a student Hackathon on Saturday, April 18.

At the Computer Science and Web Technology Competition, students competed in two categories. In the first category, they competed in their knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) and in the second category, they solved standard programming tasks in a selected programming language. The event was enriched by an interactive program led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Blaž Rodič and concluded with a formal awards ceremony for the top participants.

In the web technologies category, the top three spots were taken by students from the Novo Mesto Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Technical High School:

In the programming category, the best results were also achieved by students from the Novo Mesto Secondary School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Technical Gymnasium:

3rd place: Andraž Plevnik

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the FIŠ Student Council is organising a Hackathon where students will tackle programming challenges and socialise at a student picnic.
