Asst. Prof. Boštjan Delak, PhD, a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto, will receive the INFOSEK Lifetime Achievement Award in Information Security this year.

The INFOSEK Awards are among the notable professional awards in the field of information and cybersecurity in Slovenia. They recognise individuals and solutions that make important contributions to the development of the field. This year’s award categories include Security Engineer of the Year, Security Product of the Year, and the Lifetime Achievement Award in Information Security.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognises professionals whose long-standing work has made a significant contribution to the development of information security.

Asst. Prof. Boštjan Delak, PhD, has been active in the field of information security for more than two decades. As an information systems auditor, lecturer, researcher, and mentor, he has shared his expertise with numerous generations of students and professionals. He has conducted more than 170 information systems audits, contributed to the development of educational programmes in cybersecurity, and combined his professional experience with research and teaching.

Through his professional work, he also makes an important contribution to the field’s development at the Faculty of Information Studies, where he introduces students to current information security challenges and to the importance of secure and responsible information systems management.

The award ceremony took place on 3 September 2026 as part of the INFOSEK 2026 conference, one of Slovenia’s leading events dedicated to information security.
