FIS students Tamara Noveska, Aleksander Markov, Marjana Gjorgjievska, and Jana Denkovska are currently completing an internship in A Coruña, Spain, where they have been gaining valuable international work experience for the past two months.
Tamara Noveska and Aleksander Markov are interning at Grupo Atlante, where they are developing Python code and creating plugins for QGIS. Marjana Gjorgjievska and Jana Denkovska are collaborating on the development of a website for the Estrella Galicia festival. The work takes place in a modern and pleasant work environment, where students work from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a traditional Spanish lunch break, and on Fridays, they have the option to work from home. They were welcomed warmly and openly by the companies, and they also had the opportunity to meet students from the University of A Coruña and interns from various countries.
Living in A Coruña also offers a rich cultural and social experience. After work, students spend their free time by the coast, at picnics, engaging in sports activities and exploring landmarks such as the Tower of Hercules and Monte San Pedro Park. They attend sporting events, discover the local cuisine, and enjoy the city’s vibrant atmosphere.
During their internship, they also took the opportunity to travel and visit Barcelona, Lugo, Santiago de Compostela, and Porto, where they experienced new cultures, architecture, and people.
International internships enable students to develop professional competencies, work on real-world projects, and gain invaluable life experiences. At FIS, we are proud that our students successfully represent the faculty in an international setting and bring home new knowledge, experiences, and friendships.
