Last Wednesday, 29 March 2023, the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto (FIŠ) held its traditional Winter Camp, which featured a wide range of activities.

At this year’s Winter Camp, after introductory speeches by the Dean of FIŠ, Prof. Dr. Matej Makarovič, the Dean of FUDŠ, Prof. Dr. Borut Rončević and Vice-Dean for Scientific Research, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuša Erman, the first part of the presentations was devoted to the Scientific Research work of FIŠ. To begin with, the strengthened FIŠ Project Office presented its activities, followed by news on the scientific research work at FIŠ, the progress of young researchers and future plans.

In the second part of the Winter Camp, Dr Andreja Umek Venturini took the floor to present the programmes and the way of preparing Horizon Europe and European Research Council (ERC) project proposals.

In the third segment, research staff had the opportunity to meet for a strategy meeting, while the administrative staff and lecturers received training in the use of Excel, delivered by Senior Lecturer Dr Albert Zorko.
