OpenAlex is an open catalogue of global research publications, maintained by the non-profit organisation OurResearch. Launched in January 2022, it indexes more than twice as many scholarly works as Scopus and Web of Science. It offers a freely accessible API, source code, and data snapshots for both simple and advanced analysis. In the presentation, we will learn about the OpenAlex service and some basic use cases. In the following, we will demonstrate the use of the OpenAlex2Pajek software library (in R) for building bibliographic networks.

• Recognising Open Science for Evaluations, The Dutch Approach

The transition to open science requires a broader cultural shift and support from research organisations and funders. In this presentation, Dutch experts will present various initiatives: Dr. Marta Teperek will present the funder’s perspective; Dr. Inge van der Weijden and Andrea Reyes Elizondo will present an overview of various initiatives at Dutch universities; and a representative from Utrecht University will share insights into a local project to recognize open science.
