APPLICATION PROCESS
The application for enrolment is submitted via an electronic application on the eVŠ web portal with a qualified digital certificate, smsPASS, e-ID card, AAI account, or with a username and password via the SI-PASS system, which operates within the National Trust Services Centre.
After a successful submission, the candidate receives a confirmation of a successfully submitted application at the e-mail address provided in the application. If the candidate does not receive the confirmation, the application has not been successfully submitted.
All supporting documents for the application (scanned documents) must also be submitted electronically via eVŠ within the application period, including:
- diploma or certificate of completion of the bachelor’s/first-cycle study programme (only if the diploma has not yet been issued) and
- diploma supplement or certificate of average grades for all years of study of the bachelor’s/first-cycle study programme, including the grade of diploma degree (certificate for the entire study program – issued by the faculty where the candidate graduated).
Documents for international applicants from non-EU countries (for recognition of foreign education):
- A copy of the document certifying completion of a bachelor’s/first-cycle study programme or equivalent education completed abroad – diploma (legalized if necessary).
- Proof of the content and duration of the education and completed obligations (diploma supplement or certificate of completed exams with the average grade of the bachelor’s/first-cycle study programme) (legalized if necessary).
- A certified translation of the education documents from No. 1 and 2 into Slovenian or English.
- Certificate of proficiency in Slovenian or English (depending on the study programme to which the candidate is applying), at least at level B2. The certificate is only mandatory for international candidates who do not come from EU member states and are not from the countries with which Slovenia has concluded a bilateral agreement in the field of education. Ukraine is also an exception.
- A copy of a valid identification document (passport or identity card) showing personal data.
For citizens coming from countries outside the European Union with which Slovenia has not signed a bilateral agreement in the field of education:
Documents from No. 1 and No. 2 must be legalized based on the Hague Conventions of 1961 (in the court of territorial jurisdiction where the certificate was obtained), where the Apostille mark must be duly completed, or the Act on the Certification of Documents in International Traffic. If the candidate’s country is not a signatory to the Hague Convention, the documents must undergo the standard (full) legalization procedure. Only after completing this full legalization process can the document be officially used before authorities in the Republic of Slovenia.
Candidates are required to monitor the e-mail address provided in the application and the eVŠ portal, as communication and any requests for supplementing the application take place in this manner. Candidates must ensure the validity of the provided e-mail address themselves.
Documents and notices are served or forwarded to candidates by depositing them on the eVŠ portal in accordance with Article 57 of the Higher Education Act. Candidates are notified of the submission of a document or notice via an informative message sent to their e-mail address and via a mobile phone message, if provided. Candidates collect the document or notice from the eVŠ portal in electronic form after prior authentication. Upon personal service of the document via the eVŠ portal, the candidate electronically confirms the electronic acknowledgement of receipt. The day of electronic confirmation is considered the day of service. If the candidate does not collect the document within five days of receiving the notification, the service is considered completed upon the expiration of this period.
Candidates who have completed a bachelor’s/first-cycle study programme in an unrelated field of study are required to complete additional study requirements (additional exam) before enrolling in the selected master’s study programme.
