UNM FIS is organising the 17th International Conference on Information Technologies and Information Society – ITIS 2026, which will take place on Thursday, 5 November, and Friday, 6 November 2026, at the Faculty of Information Studies, University of Novo mesto, Ljubljanska cesta 31a, Novo mesto, Slovenia.

This year’s conference will focus on “Shaping Society 5.0 through Interdisciplinary AI, Sustainable Innovation, and Digital Ethics.”

The conference will bring together researchers, practitioners and doctoral students, providing a forum for exchanging knowledge at the intersection of advanced computing, data science and social responsibility. Particular attention will be given to technological advances and their ethical and societal implications.

The conference will address the following topics:

• advances in artificial intelligence and its applications in healthcare, education, public services and other fields;

• digital transformation;

• high-performance and quantum computing;

• smart infrastructure and sustainable industry;

• cybersecurity;

• data science and solutions based on big data;

• Society 5.0 and human-centred digital innovation;

• interdisciplinary approaches to artificial intelligence, digitalisation and sustainability;

• ethics in the digital society.
