The Knowledge Transfer Slovenia (KTS) platform provides companies with quick access to research solutions, innovations, and experts from three Slovenian universities and ten research institutes.
The new national platform Prenos znanja Slovenija / Knowledge Transfer Slovenia (KTS) connects the knowledge transfer offices of Slovenia’s three universities and ten research institutes, offering for the first time a single entry point for companies seeking solutions, technologies, or partnerships with the academic sector.
It is designed as a digital hub that enables companies to access:
innovations emerging from Slovenian research organisations,
research competencies for addressing technological or development challenges,
spin-out companies originating from the academic sphere,
practical tools and advice for cooperation,
examples of good practice in cooperation between researchers and businesses,
current events and other opportunities for working with knowledge institutions.
The platform shortens the path from idea to innovation and enables faster commercialisation of knowledge and transfer of research results into practice.
The initiative, co-funded by the Republic of Slovenia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the European Union (European Regional Development Fund) under the Public Call for Supporting Knowledge Transfer Office Activities, aims to strengthen connections between research organisations and businesses, accelerate the development of new technologies, and boost Slovenia’s innovation potential.
Within the Faculty of Information Studies in Novo mesto, the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Office (TTO FIS) participates in the Consortium as a KTO member; the office has been active at the faculty since 2017.
