On Tuesday, 8 October 2024, we successfully held a workshop entitled “Project Funding Modalities in the Horizon Europe Programme“. This meeting was a follow-up to the first workshop held in May, so this time we focused on specific aspects of project financing. Under the guidance of MSc. Darija Valančič, expert from the Science Directorate, we discussed various related topics.

Participants explored:

  1. Unit cost – understanding this form of funding and concrete examples.
  2. Actual costs – delving deeper into this topic and practical examples.
  3. Audits in Horizon Europe – requirements, IAP HE and relevant examples.
  4. Lump sum – understanding the chosen funding method and practical examples.

The meeting provided an opportunity for a rich exchange of views and experiences, where Mgr. Darija Valančič answered questions and shared useful tips. Participants actively engaged in the discussion, which further enriched the event.

Participants’ feedback was extremely positive, praising the quality of the content and the organisation of the workshop. They considered the knowledge gained to be extremely useful for their future projects. All participants also agreed that they would like to see more similar events focusing on European projects and funding.

This workshop is a clear demonstration of our commitment to fostering professional development and effective management of research projects. We recognise that these elements are key to progress and innovation both in Slovenia and in the wider European area. Our faculty focuses on training and supporting researchers, which contributes to growth and success in research and development.
