The academic year 2026/27 is about to begin, and once again, we invite all newly enrolled students of the 1st and 2nd cycles to the UNM FIS Orientation Day. The Orientation Day is designed to help you get to know the Faculty, its structure, your study programmes and courses, and much more.

On your very first study day, we have prepared the FIS Orientation Day for you, which will take place on Thursday, 1 October 2026, at the Faculty (Ljubljanska cesta 31a in Novo mesto).

During the Orientation Day, we will briefly introduce the Faculty and its organisation, the Student Affairs Office, the Library and many other useful resources for your studies. You will also learn about the hybrid delivery of the study process, including attendance at lectures and tutorials both in person and via Zoom.

The Orientation Day will be held in three sessions:

• Morning session, starting at 9:00 for FULL-TIME STUDENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL STUDY PROGRAMME COMPUTER SCIENCE AND WEB TECHNOLOGIES
• Afternoon session, starting at 12:00 for FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME STUDENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL STUDY PROGRAMME INFORMATICS IN CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY and FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME STUDENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL STUDY PROGRAMME GAME AND EXTENDED REALITY DEVELOPMENT
• Afternoon session starting at 16:00 for PART-TIME STUDENTS OF THE PROFESSIONAL STUDY PROGRAMME COMPUTER SCIENCE AND WEB TECHNOLOGIES, and FOR STUDENTS OF MASTER’S STUDY PROGRAMMES

 Please attend only the session designated for your degree program.

International students enrolled in study programmes taught in Slovenian are required to attend the Orientation Day in Slovenian, in accordance with the timetable above.

For international students enrolled in study programmes taught in English (BA Business Management in a Digital Society, MA Data Science, MA Cyber Security, MA Business Informatics, and MA Law and Leadership in Digital Society), the Orientation Day will be held in English on Friday, 2 October 2026, at 11.00 am.

Please also note that the schedule will be published and available via Moodle (your login details – username and password – are the same as for the Web Office) by the end of September.

In Moodle, you must also enrol yourself on all the courses of your year of study.
