The Romanian partner in the TEAM project (Telemedicine Education Advancement through Micro-credentials), which also includes our faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mircea Focșa, MD, PhD, from the Victor Babeș University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Timișoara, successfully presented a paper at the prestigious European conference MIE 2025 – Medical Informatics Europe, held in Athens.

His presentation of the paper, titled “Developing a Telemedicine Curriculum through Micro-credentialing,” showcased key outcomes of the TEAM project – Telemedicine Education Advancement through Micro-credentials, funded by the Erasmus+ Project of the European Union.

Highlights from the presentation included:

  • Mapping the current state of telemedicine education across Europe

  • Identifying skill gaps among healthcare professionals, students, and administrators

  • Proposing a system of a micro-credentialing, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF)

  • A special focus on digital literacy and access to education in rural and underserved areas
