Project Summary:
The Module Technology and Innovation Communities 2030 is a teaching programme establishing the academic communities dedicated to:
- enhance the awareness of EU challenges referring to the changing world by becoming making societies more inclusive, innovative and reflective;
- promote the role of EU citizens in mitigating those challenges and contributing to the social cohesion and environmental sustainability
- foster the engagement of young academics in teaching and research on EU subjects
The Module’s design is to complement and upgrade the activities of past Jean Centre Monnet of Excellence titled Technology and Innovations in Regional Development for Europe 2020 (TIR 2020) which is the focal point for competence and knowledge on implementation of Europe 2020 vision of smart, sustainable and inclusive growth via technological innovations on the regional level (this module primarily approaches academic added value in terms of enhancing the transfer of this knowledge specifically to the teaching and learning practices of the topic). It may also be that the Centrum of Excellence (by implementing this) has shown a need for further develop with a particular focus on its institutional, social and cognitive foundations and mechanisms. The EU is fully committed to be a frontrunner in implementing
the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, together with its Member States. The Agenda is of paramount importance to the values of the EU and the future of Europe. The module especially aims to empower individuals by equipping them with specific competencies for tackling student-centred learning, open education techniques and action research sustainability challenges in their everyday life.
