izr. prof. dr. Simon Vrhovec

Dr. Simon Vrhovec je leta 2015 prejel doktorat iz računalništva in informatike na Univerzi v Ljubljani.

Trenutno je izredni profesor na Univerzi v Mariboru, Fakulteti za varnostne vede. Njegovi glavni raziskovalni interesi so človeški dejavniki v kibernetski varnosti, inženiring varnega softvera, agilne metode in obvladovanje sprememb. Od leta 2019 je v usmerjevalnem odboru konference European Interdisciplinary Cybersecurity Conference (EICC), v letih 2018 in 2019 pa je so-predsedoval konferenci Central European Cybersecurity Conference (CECC). Je član uredniških odborov revij Frontiers in Computer Science, Journal of Cyber Security and Mobility (JCSANDM), International Journal of Cyber Behavior, Psychology and Learning (IJCBPL), International Journal of Cyber Forensics and Advanced Threat Investigations (CFATI) in EUREKA: Social and Humanities. Je ali je bilgostujoči urednik za revije IEEE Security & Privacy, Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications (JoWUA) in Journal of Universal Computer Science (J.UCS).

Simon Vrhovec received the Ph.D. degree in computer and information science from the University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2015.

He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Maribor, Faculty of Criminal Justice and Security, Ljubljana, Slovenia. His main research interests include human factors in cybersecurity, engineering of secure software, agile methods, and change management. He has been in the steering committee of the European Interdisciplinary Cybersecurity Conference (EICC), since 2019, and co-chaired the Central European Cybersecurity Conference (CECC), in 2018 and 2019. He is an Editorial Board Member of Frontiers in Computer Science, Journal of Cyber Security and Mobility (JCSANDM), International Journal of Cyber Behavior, Psychology and Learning (IJCBPL), International Journal of Cyber Forensics and Advanced Threat Investigations (CFATI), and EUREKA: Social and Humanities. He serves or has served as a Guest Editor for IEEE Security & Privacy, Journal of Wireless Mobile Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, and Dependable Applications (JoWUA), and Journal of Universal Computer Science (J.UCS).
